New York City!

I had the opportunity to do an engagement session in NYC recently! It was SO much fun, and Rachel and Sean made my job so easy! Rachel has legs to die for and I called Sean "Ryan" a few times because I think he looks like Ryan Gosling. I can not wait for the wedding! Thanks guys for a super fun time!

susie and jason in the knot

We are so excited that one of our awesome couples are featured in the current issue of the Knot! Susie and Jason had an absolutly gorgeous and unique wedding! When Susie and I first met and she started describing the wedding plans I knew it was going to perfect! It started with Jason asking if they could play Beatles music at the reception and evolved in to the theme for the wedding. While it could have gone over the top with a theme like that, it was sophisticated, fun and very elegant all at the same time!

The tables were named with Beatles songs and Jason drew the table markers. Susie is so talented! She made the programs, place cards and the candy bar herself!  The beautiful flowers were from the Parsonage and Sweet and Savory made the gorgeous cake. The ceremony and reception were held at the Pine Knob Mansion, which I think is just about the most perfect spot around for a wedding!

nina and ryan in chicago

Back in the early spring I met up with Nina and Ryan in Chicago where they live to shoot their engagement pictures. The weather was less than perfect but we all made the best of it and I think we got some great images! They were both so fun to work with, very relaxed in front of the camera! Nina had the great idea of going to the Chicago History Museum ( a place she loves- and this girl knows her Chicago history!) It reminded me a lot of the Henry Ford- it is a place I would highly recommend if you are visiting Chicago.

Also, right down the block from where they live is the Second City, so we had to get a few shots there!

Thanks Nina and Ryan for a great afternoon in the windy ( and foggy, wet, chilly ......) city! You both were troopers and it was a lot of fun!!! And thanks Amy for schlepping my stuff around!

melissa + rick

Melissa and Rick are married! This has been a long time coming- they began their relationship at the end of 8th grade, in fact the date of their wedding is the same date of their first date. Melissa has PERSONALITY! And she wanted her wedding to reflect the things she loves-leopard print, the color pink, the lord of the rings, enchanted garden, and fairies -whew!!! But she did it!!! Who would have thought you could infuse leopard print into your wedding attire- but she did it so well! She looked flawless, just too gorgeous for words! Justin Ruppel of Figo did her make up and I think it could be the most beautiful make up job I have ever seen. Everything was perfect and Melissa and Rick were such a glamorous couple! Their families were also so wonderful to work with, the closeness between all of them was very touching.

The Parsonage transformed the Lafayette Grande into the enchanted garden Melissa dreamed of, it was breathtaking! Sweet and Savory created the beautiful wedding cake. Fifth and Main did the video and were really great to work with. The band was 56 daze and they kept everyone moving all night long!
